Cja453 - Factors that affected my purchasing decisions when I needed a new computer were family, attitudes, social class and perception. When looking at what kind of computer I was needing I first asked my family and friends what kind of computer they have or which one they would recommend and why. I asked them because I value their opinion and know they have no motive to try and get me to buy a computer I do not need or one that is more expensive than I am willing to spend. I also know they will tell me the truth versus if I went to the store the sales person would tell me what I wanted to hear so I would either buy that particular computer or end up purchasing a computer that was more than I wanted to spend and more computer than I need.
Cja 453 - This was the first computer I have purchased by myself, after listening to what my friends and family had to say; I also used my own attitude toward in guiding my purchase. I used my personal experience with previous computers; I compared the computer’s I was looking at to the past computer’s I have owned. I had an idea of what brands I did not like and one’s my family and friends recommended. I also was reading reviews on how other’s felt about the purchase of the computer I was looking into, and how that compared to the view I had on the particular computer.
Psy322 - I believe attitudes toward the product have a greater impact on purchase than almost any other factor behind family and friends. We as consumers normally hold what our friends and family have to say because we purchase things with them in mind. Social class comes to mind when making my purchase as well, I did not want to purchase what would people would think is a generic computer.
Psy 322 - In making my decision I knew that was not going to be an option because I did not want people to think that I could not afford a name brand computer.
